We went to Chinatown to see the New Year parade.

We took a surprise visit to Nevada
Owen and Luke climbed in Red Rock Canyon.

Luke discovered a cedar tree in the desert.
We spotted a wild burro.
He peeked right into our car (check out the view in the mirror!)
He wanted to come right into the car with us!
Just a few miles away we walked across the Brooklyn Bridge.
Owen is very happy to be wearing shorts in February.
Luke of course liked the bridge very much.
We ate lunch at the Rainforest Cafe.
Owen and Mommy took a ride on a helicopter!!!
Owen wore a headset to talk and protect his ears.
First we flew near the Hoover Dam
Then we flew right over it!
Here is where the Colorado River flows into Lake Mead.
Over the hills into the Grand Canyon!
We flew lower and lower
We went further into the canyon
And then our pilot landed us right at the botom!
Mom and Owen were thrilled!!!
It was beyond exciting!
Owen discovered a huge cactus
And he had the canyon all to hiself!
A neat barrel cactus
Almost time to head back
Owen got back into his spot next to the pilot.
Ready to fly!
As we flew back, the sun began to set.
And the Las Vegas Strip sparkled in the darkness.
After we landed, the Luxor pyramid was illuminating the moon.

Owen got dressed up for the real reason we came to Las Vegas.
